A fun piece in my newest series, “Far Outside the Circus Gay” . This is the title piece in that series. The line is from a John Keats poem. To me, it speaks of the ideas, emotions, attributes, etc that may only be present on closer inspection. At a glance, this head has a bright red hat (auto body paint-Chrysler Flame Red!), crisp white on white surface, with graphite original drawings, a beautiful birchwood box; a closer look reveals the drawings to be edgy, dark, & strange: bugs, skulls, ghouls, barbed wire. This is my favorite place to explore, that line between dark & light, strange & familiar. 37″ tall. Please allow 4 to 6 weeks delivery.
