I am honored to have been chosen as Featured Artist at Cottonwood Art Festival, in Richardson, TX! The show is October 6th & 7th, 2011. My work will be on the tee shirts, posters, etc, & I could not be more excited. I was chosen from 240 artists selected by a jury of art professionals out of more than 1,000 submissions. Pretty cool, huh?
Now, I have been challenging myself to create my best work, & lots of it. My kiln shelves are constantly full, & I have taken to putting drying pieces on the floor of my kiln room, on newspaper. I should have more work than ever, all new, fun & edgy.
The show after Cottonwood is Bayou City in Houston. It’s the following weekend, October 13th & 14th. I know artists who have had to cancel a show because they sold so much work, they don’t have enough left to do another show. That will not be a problem. I literally have so much work right now, my bins are all full, kiln shelves are all full, there is work on the floor in my kiln room, & studio, all of my studio shelves are full & the kiln is loaded to fire tomorrow night! My galleries have just started sending in orders for the holidays, on top of the two BIG shows, so I am packing & shipping work too.
No rest for the over-worked. I would not have it any other way!
Thanks everyone for supporting independent artists & small (American) businesses & making it possible to make a living doing what I LOVE!
